How to import unsynced notes from OneNote for Windows 10 into Office OneNote?
Support for OneNote for Windows 10 will end on October 14, 2025
OneNote for Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. Then it becomes read-only and you will not be able to edit your notes.However, for some reason, there was a synchronization error, and OneNote for Windows 10 hadn't synced to OneDrive.com for half a year, that is, there were many newly written notes that didn't sync to OneDrive.com, only saved in OneNote for Windows 10.
Now it's time to migrate unsynced notes to Office OneNote.

Close all notebooks in Office OneNote
If you don't already have Office OneNote installed, you can open the Microsoft Store in Windows to install OneNote.If you already have Office OneNote installed, make sure that the following OneNote is available to transfer unsynced notes:
- OneNote 2016 v2508 in Office 2019
- OneNote 2021
- OneNote 2024
- OneNote 365 v2508
Then right-click the notebook name in the main Office OneNote window and click the "Close this notebook" menu item to close all notebooks.

Clean Office OneNote, and then quit Office OneNote
Clean Office OneNote displays:You don’t have any open notebooks.
Then, exit and close Office OneNote.

Import OneNote UWP notes using the OneNote Batch
Install OneNote Batch, then click:- Import tab
- OneNote UWP (Import OneNote for Windows 10)
- You can see "Importing ....” Progress bar.
OneNote Batch will import all notebooks in OneNote for Windows 10 into Office OneNote.

Run Office OneNote to see the results of the import
Finally, run Office OneNote again and you can see the imported results.
