Question:
I have OneNote and I use hyperlinks to get to to other Onenote pages, notebooks, etc. Something happened over the weekend where anytime I right click to copy notebook hyperlink, and paste it, the link takes me to the OneNote online version of the notebook. I want all hyperlinks to open in the OneNote app like it always has. I am signed in to my Microsoft 365 account, shows signed in to OneNote App, and going CRAZY trying to figure it out. I want default to always open in OneNote App.
"Copy link to page" is now creating a https:// link instead of onenote:// link! I do NOT want to open a browser tab every time I move around in onenote.

Answer:
On June 26, 2025, Windows Office OneNote will not be able to get internal link of type onenote:// through the "Copy links to page" menu item after updating to 2505.
Solution:
As a temporary solution, use the right-click menu item "Copy Page Local Link" provided by Gem for OneNote instead, which can directly get a pure onenote:// type of internal link.
